Climate Change
Asked about new climate change targets, the PMOS said that the problem was not with targets per se. It was with annual targets. The problem with annual targets was they were subject to fluctuations of the economy and the weather, which meant the targets could not take into account the ebb and flow of yearly emissions. A more likely route to success was to have more medium term targets. This issue would no doubt be dealt with in any future legislation that there might be when Parliamentary time allowed it.

Sudanese Vice President
Asked about the visit of the Sudanese Vice President, the PMOS said that anybody who had read the recent statements by the Prime Minister would know where he was coming from. The Prime Minister believed that all sides should stop fighting and all sides should engage with the UN and the Sudanese Government in particular should allow the UN to take over the operations of the African Union forces. This was the way forward.

David Mills
Asked if there was any comment on the David Mills trial, the PMOS said no. Asked whether the Prime Minister still had full confidence in the Culture Secretary, the PMOS said yes.

Police Inquiry
Asked if the Prime Minister had had a call from the police today, the PMOS said no.

Sudanese Vice President
Asked for further information about the Prime Minister's meeting with the Sudanese Vice President, the Prime Minister's Official Spokesman (PMOS) replied that he was in London and it should be an interesting meeting.

Iraq
Put that the UK was moving its staff from the consulate to the airport in Basra, and was this a bad sign for security in the area, the PMOS replied that they were adjusting to local circumstances. What it would not do in any way would be to affect our determination to stay and do the job.

Climate Change
Asked if the Government had changed its mind with regards to the Climate Change Bill, the PMOS said that it had not. As people knew, there were certain proprieties around The Queen's Speech, and therefore, the PMOS said that he was limited to what he could say. David Miliband would say some more in the House this afternoon, therefore it was better to leave it to him.

Asked the daily police question, the PMOS said his answer was unchanged: no.

Honours
Asked if the Prime Minister had been contacted by the police regarding cash for honours the PMS said that there had been no change to the position. Asked why the answer was, "no change" rather than, "no", the PMS said the answer to which there was no change was no.

MP’s Expenses
Asked if the Prime Minister thought that MP's were good value for money the PMS said as the issue was a matter for the House authorities and as the Prime Minister was himself an MP it was not wise for her to comment.
