Asked whether the Prime Minister had personally thanked Mahmoud Abbas for helping with the release of Alan Johnston, the PMS did not get into the details of the call and referred back to what he had previously said on this issue.
Asked whether there had been any contact between the Prime Minister and Alan Johnston, the PMS said he was not aware of any direct contact. Asked if there had been any indirect contact, the PMS said he would check with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.
