Alexander Litvinenk

Asked if the Government had had any discussions regarding Mr. Litvinenk and the Russian authorities, the PMOS said that there was a police investigation going on and we should allow that to go on. Asked if the police would be going to Moscow, the PMOS said the police should be allowed to carry out their investigation wherever they wish to.

Asked if there had been any contact between the Kremlin and Downing Street this morning, the PMOS said as you’d imagine the focus had been on other things this morning and in terms of contact with other governments we do not normally brief that, but added that there was a police investigation going on and that should be allowed to proceed.
