Police Inquiry-BBC
« Ofsted | Back to most recent briefing | Iraq »
Asked if there had been any contact with the Prime Minister’s Office by the Metropolitan police, the PMOS said that as always, he would not comment on a police investigation. However, the answer today was still: no.
Asked if the Prime Minister thought it was a wise use of taxpayer’s money for the BBC to offer cash incentives to get stories on the cash-for-honours story, the PMOS paused before saying that it was probably wiser for him to say nothing. The BBC could answer for their use of money; the Government did not have to.
