Asked what the hopes were for the Gleneagles Dialogue talks in Mexico, the Prime Minister’s Official Spokesman (PMOS) said that this was an opportunity for us to impress on the rest of the world our view that there needed to be binding targets beyond 2012. If we could agree on a total limit for CO2 in the earth’s atmosphere and international limits on emissions we would stand a far better chance of tackling climate change. This would build on the work done at Gleneagles last year and keep the momentum going which was important.
