Asked if the deal between the US and Russia would have an immediate effect on Britain, the PMS said that the Prime Minister had previously spoken about strategic arms reduction, saying that we would support such measures; that position remained unchanged.
Asked what impact there would be on the future of Trident, the PMS said that the Government set out its position on Trident in the 2006 White Paper and that position remained the same.
