Jaguar Land Rover

Put that talks between the Government and Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) had broken down, the PMS said that both the Government and JLR had denied this; the Government wanted to see JLR safely through difficult trading times and we regarded the company as viable, with good long-term prospects. That was why we were discussing with JLR and its parent company, both their short-term and long-term financing and business plans. These talks were ongoing.
Asked if the Government was seeking some sort of representation on the board of JLR and if it would have a say in the appointment of chairman, the PMS said that these were commercially confidential negotiations and we would not get into the details.
