Immigration

Asked for a response to Frank Field’s remarks concerning immigration, the PMOS said that Frank Field spoke for himself and it was not for Downing Street to pronounce on the opinions of back-bench MPs. In terms of the issue of immigration itself he would simply point out that we had reached the tipping point in terms of there being more removals than failed applications for entry. We had seen progress on that, and the Home Office review would look at this issue and the detailed aspects of IND. We were fully aware of the issue and were acting on the issue of migration and had been for some time. At the same time we fully recognised the positive contribution that migrants made to this country and this country’s economy. The fact was that our economy would not grow as strongly as it did without migration.

Put to him by the Express that Frank Field had focussed on the failures in policy concerning immigration and a lack of public debate, the PMOS said that without getting into commenting on remarks by individual MPs he would simply point out that it was very difficult to say that there was not a public debate if you looked at the coverage of this issue down through the years, not least by the Express. Here was an issue which we had been completely open about in terms of arguing the case for immigration. At the same time we recognised that there needed to be controls. That was why we had introduced the points system for example.

Question further about immigration from EU countries, the PMOS said that we had to recognise the value of such migration to the economy of this country. There were 600,000 vacancies and there would be inflationary pressure if it weren’t for the contribution of migrants. Asked if we were putting economic growth before social cohesion, the PMOS said that social cohesion would be put in jeopardy if there were inflationary pressures in the economy as a result of the inability to have people doing certain jobs. What you had to do was take a holistic view of the economy as a whole and the needs of the economy as a whole. That was why we had introduced the points system which placed value on certain skills which were needed for the economy.

  1. I think that the government should look more possitively toward immigrants.
It’s shame that in the 21st century people are still suffering for some papers to go back home to see their families and to come back to work.
It isn’t fair either the fact that they fill the gaps with people who joined Eu and leaving asylum seekers illegal suffering on the streets of Britain.
    Life is short…

  3. Labour GV have no imagination or vision to solve this mess. G.Reid is goint to kick them all out the country in no time – we heard this bluffing hundreds of times from the Spin Party

What’s worse, Reid is thinking to try his luck for the premiership! We don’t need another Rumsfield in this country – for goodness sake.

  4. Personally I feel that Frank Field’s views on
immigration are absolutely right. I’ll go further and say that English people ask themselves privately’ "Why did we fight and die for this country in World War II?
England is being overrun by foreigners – who will never mix because ones identity is belonging to ones tribe. English people are leaving the country because they feel that they dont belong here anymore.
Tony Blair of New Labour does not represent the mainstream of english people in this country.
When TB spouts his mouth off he’s not representing us. All the talk about Democracy and Freedom” – We the english say – ‘Democracy’ what democracy? – no one asked us if we wanted to flooded by immigrants from the four corners of the world. And when they come here – do they have any intention of fitting in with the host nation. No none whatsoever.
Its we the natives who have to change to accomodate them.
AND WHAT OF FREEDOM? That word is so tired and worn. We the english say ‘What is this freedom and who is it for – Its not for the English. We have to keep our mouths shut.

British universities are to blame. All their talk about freedom socialism communism all ISAMS ALL OLOGIES – picked up by young kids who never fought a war in their lives. But they may have to in the future and then they will understand the COST.

England is NOW a hell hole;nobody cares – nobody feels safe anymore, and the older folk – who won
the bloody war well forget about them, they dont count anymore. In fact i’d say they are treated pretty much like dogs.
WE’VE NEVER HAD IT SO BAD’- more crime – more guns on the street – more drugs – no discipline – no authority and no respect.
And for youth of today? well’ They have nothing to believe in’do they? – because they have no country – no pride – no identity – no self esteem’ and no respect. Why? because they have no country = no pride and no pride = no respect.
We the english do not want any more immigrants coming into this country especially those that constantly bleat and complain about our system. Those who come to live on OUR benefits’ take our jobs – our housing and we the english have to take second best.

FINALLY ENGLISH PEOPLE SAY TO ALL YOU IMMIGRANTS
    PLEASE GO HOME!’
YOU DONT BELONG HERE’ AND YOU NEVER WILL.
TO BE ABSOLUTELY HONEST THE ENGLISH TRIBE DONT WANT YOU HERE. ENGLAND BELONGS TO US THE WHITE TRIBE.
