Asked whether the Prime Minister would be travelling to Belfast today, the Prime Minister’s Spokesman (PMS) told the assembled press that the talks were ongoing, but she would not be commenting on the Prime Minister’s travel plans.
Asked whether a new deadline would be set, the PMS said the talks were ongoing. There was still progress being made and both the Prime Minister and the Taoiseach remained optimistic that a deal could be found.
Put that the DUP had said last night that any deal would need to be put to the public in a referendum, the PMS replied that talks were ongoing; we would look at the outcome of the talks in due course.
