Cadbury/Kraft
« Haiti | Back to most recent briefing | Haiti »
Asked what the Government was doing to secure jobs and investment at Cadbury if the deal with Kraft went through, the PMS said that at this stage we were still waiting for a formal announcement. However, the Prime Minister had spoken about the importance of Cadbury and continued investment in the company. Lord Mandelson had said that he was encouraged by Kraft’s comments and the great respect they had for the Cadbury brand, heritage and people. He had also said that assuming the deal went through he would seek an early meeting with Kraft senior management to hear how they would fulfil the commitments made to Cadbury and its workforce.
