« Haiti | Back to most recent briefing | Economy »
Asked if the Prime Minister had a response to the assertion made by Geoff Hoon that he had asked for a lot more money from the Treasury for the war in Iraq, the PMS replied that she would not provide a running commentary on what was discussed at the inquiry and we were cooperating with the inquiry fully.
On the subject of defence spending in general, the Prime Minister had made it very clear that not only had defence spending increased considerably over the last few years, but that all operational requirements requested by the Ministry of Defence had been met.
