Salt
« Haiti | Back to most recent briefing | Taoiseach Visit »
Put that the Prime Minister had said that salt supplies would be arriving in the next few days and did that mean that supplies would be arriving before the 22nd January, the PMS said that the position had not changed. The position was driven by how quickly we could get the salt transported to the UK. The important thing was that we had secured the supplies.
The Prime Minister had also spoken about an additional supply of salt that we had secured in the UK and we were also continuing with salt conserving measures.
Asked if the additional supply was separate from the two salt mines, the PMS said that he believed there was a third supply, which might be from Ireland but he would check.
