D-Day Anniversary
« LDV | Back to most recent briefing | Misc »
Asked whether the Prime Minister would be attending the 65th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy, the Prime Minister s Spokesman (PMS) told the assembled press that there was no question of the Government s commitment to veterans and full participation in an international commemoration of D-Day. Plans for the event in France were still being developed and no formal invitations had been issued yet, but of course we would be represented at an appropriate level and would look at what support our veterans needed to take part.

I know you have been busy sorting out the terrible mess those over paid, over rated bankers have left but come on, lets dig a wee bit deeper and make arrangements to send Britians finest over the Channel to attend the 65th Anniversary of D Day.
We all paid for these heros to travel acroos to France 65 years ago in less than comfortable style in order for them to Bravely fight for their country. Can we not allocate just a few more Pounds from the pot of gold to ensure these elderly heros feel supported in their senior years.
If this isn’t a worthy cause i’m not quite sure what will be.
Regards
A tax payer and ex soldier
