Other business

Asked to comment on the Deputy Prime Minister’s decision to stay at a private home on a US visit, the PMOS said that had been dealt with by the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office and he had nothing further to add.

Asked if the Prime Minister’s donation to charity in return for accommodation was always paid by the Prime Minister rather than the public purse, the PMOS said yes.

Asked about the Government’s plans to crack down on incapacity benefit, the PMOS said that if you looked back at the proposals which were published and tomorrow’s national rollout of the Pathways to Work support plan, that was a detailed proposal in terms of getting people on incapacity benefit back into work.
