Questioned on whether the Prime Minister had quelled rebellion over the building of High Speed 2 by proposing further tunnelling on the route, the PMS said the government had held a consultation, had listened to people’s concerns and had taken them into account. He referred journalists present to the Department for Transport for details on costs of the project.
