Asked if the Prime Minister agreed with the Speaker of the House of Commons that there must be no secret deals to allow MPs to pay back expenses without amounts being made public and that a ban on MPs employing spouses must go ahead, the PMS said the Prime Minister’s overriding objective in the process is to ensure the new system is as transparent as possible.
