MPs’ expenses
« Miscellaneous | Back to most recent briefing | Security »
Put that the chairman of the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority had said that he would drop some of the original proposals put forward by Sir Christopher Kelly, the PMS said that the Prime Minister’s view had always been that we needed to move away as quickly as possible from the old system to the new system. There were two aspects to that; firstly, the expenses system and secondly the area around pay and related matters.
Asked if the Prime Minister was still of the view that Sir Christopher Kelly’s proposals should be implemented in full, the PMS said that the Prime Minister’s view was unchanged.
