Copenhagen

Asked if the Prime Minister was concerned about support going into Copenhagen due to the leaked documents at East Anglia University, the PMS said referred to Ed Miliband’s comments that one set of emails from the University of East Anglia did not undermine decades of climate science. The Prime Minister was of the view that we could reach an agreement in Copenhagen and had been struck by how passionate young people were about the issue of climate change at this morning’s event.
Asked if the Prime Minister had directly appealed to President Obama to attend the latter stages of the summit as that was the stage at which the big decisions would be reached, the PMS said that the Prime Minister thought it was excellent news that the President would be attending Copenhagen, but the timing of his attendance was entirely for him.
