The Prime Minister’s Spokesman (PMS) told the assembled press that it would be the Royal Welsh Regiment who would be going to Afghanistan in mid-December.
Put that the Prime Minister had mentioned in PMQs that regional governments would be invited to the conference in January, the PMS replied that the Prime Minister had said regional powers would be invited. The invitation list had not been drawn up yet, but it was safe to assume that it would include those who had an interest in the situation.
Asked if that would include Iran, the PMS said that we had not concluded the invitation list.
