Put that carbon trading could cause financial problems in the future, the PMS said that the Government’s view on carbon trading was that it could play a role. It had been a feature of the market for some time and made it far more likely that we could tackle some of the difficult aspects of climate change. Cost effective emission reductions were possible as well as getting money to the poorest countries in the world.
The most important thing was that domestic action by developed countries as well as private finance was essential.
