The Prime Minister s Spokesman said that at Cabinet this morning the Prime Minister reported back about the G20 Summit last week; all G20 leaders had signed up for the fiscal stimulus package and an agreement on the next stage of growth. He also emphasised that the G20 would provide political leadership going forward and a new framework for economic cooperation. The Prime Minister also talked about Northern Ireland and the meetings that took place yesterday and the meeting that would be taking place this afternoon. Douglas Alexander updated the Cabinet on the two recent natural disasters in Samoa and Indonesia. In Samoa we had been part of the response on the ground, giving to the Samoan Red Cross, and in Indonesia, British fire fighters had supported local services and the UK had made a five hundred thousand pound donation to the Red Cross Appeal. Andy Burnham and John Denham gave a presentation on the next steps of the National Care Service. The first step was to move towards free personal care at home for those with the highest need, which would commence on 1st October 2010. It was expected that approximately three hundred and fifty thousand would be entitled to receive personal care in the home.
