The Prime Minister’s Spokesman (PMS) began by giving out a message of support from the Prime Minister in the run up to Aung San Suu Kyi’s 64th birthday. On Burma more generally, the PMS said that we remained deeply concerned about the situation. The Prime Minister had spoken to the UN Secretary General about this issue in recent days and they agreed that urgent action was needed and that the Prime Minister would support the Secretary General’s intention to visit Burma to discuss these various issues with the regime there.
