The Prime Minister s Spokesman (PMS) began by briefing journalists on this morning s Cabinet meeting. Cabinet began at 10am and was still ongoing when the PMS left at around 10:30 to prepare for this briefing. There was a discussion on parliamentary business, followed by an update from the Foreign Secretary following his visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo at the weekend, and there was a presentation on the digital switchover led by Andy Burnham. Today was the day when the Scottish Borders switch over to digital television. They were also due to get an update from the Chancellor on the economy, and a report back from the Prime Minister on his visit to the Gulf region.
