Chancellor and Lord Mandelson Meeting
« Economy | Back to most recent briefing | Immigration »
Asked how the meeting between the Chancellor, Lord Mandelson and the banks went, the Prime Minister s Spokesman (PMS) said that this was one in a series of meetings with banks and we remained in close contact with them. This meeting was lead by the Treasury and BERR so it was best to speak to them for a detailed read out. We understood that this was a productive meeting; the Government made clear its desire to do more to help support small businesses through the current difficult economic conditions, and we wanted to work with the banks in enabling that to happen.
