Asked for more details on the retraining announcement, the Prime Minister s Spokesman (PMS) replied that full details were set out in the Department for Work and Pensions press release. This was part funded by the European Social Fund, and part funded by the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills, and was targeted at retraining people who had been made redundant so that they could get back to work quickly. This was new money.
