Asked what the likely position would be if as expected the House of Lords threw out 42 days, the PMS replied that he was not going to get into hypotheticals. As the Prime Minister said this morning, the House of Commons had expressed its will and the Government believed that the action we were proposing in relation to 42 days was the right action and was in the national interest, and we would continue to make the case in the House of Lords.
