Campaign against Homophobic Bullying
« Mr. Yuschenko | Back to most recent briefing | Immigration »
Asked what the Prime Minister’s view was about public money being used for "Gay Month" the Prime Minister’s Spokesman (PMS) said what she thought the journalist was referring to was a website that had been set up and which the Government had given some money towards. She explained that the money was being used as part of the anti-bullying campaign, and in this case was help against homophobic bullying in schools. She stressed that it was not part of the school curriculum, and was not mandatory, but rather it was up to teachers on the schools whether they used the material or not.
