BMA

Asked if there had been contact between the Government and the BMA, the PMS said that there certainly had been lots of conversations with the BMA over the last couple of months.
Asked how important it was that organisations like the BMA changed their view on NHS reform, the PMS said that we had been having a listening exercise in order to find out people’s views on the reforms. Part of that was listening to the views of practitioners as they were vital to the reforms.
On whether the BMA had a veto, the PMS replied that we wanted to listen to people’s views on the reforms. We would shortly be receiving the report from the NHS Future Forum and we would be considering their recommendations.
