Asked what the Prime Minister had meant when he said that Ken Clarke still had plenty of fuel in the tank’ and did this mean that he would be in the Cabinet for many years to come, the PMS replied that the Prime Minister had said what he said.
Asked whether sentence discounts’ had only been dropped for rape cases, the PMS replied that people would need to wait until the Government had finished considering the policy. We would be making an announcement in the next few weeks.
