Syria
Asked how confident the Government was on getting a resolution on Syria, the PMS replied that the discussion that would take place this afternoon was an opening discussion. We would need to see what the view was around the table. The PMS said that the Foreign Secretary had made the point that some countries had close links with Syria and they could be more difficult to convince.
Asked about Russian involvement in any resolution, the PMS replied that we thought it was right to take the draft resolution to the Security Council and to make the argument that this was about bringing pressure to bear on the Syrian regime. We needed to see the international community speaking with one voice on that and the way to make that happen was to table something and start the discussion.

What is done about Syria will,of course,be dictated by the almighty Jewish lobby.The same with Libya,Tunisia and Egypt.No government that is hostile to Israel will be permitted.The BBC,s job is to hammer home a negative message about the Syrian leadership and at the same time omit any reference of the Apartheid policies of Israel,Messrs Humphreys,Naughtie and Paxman will do as they are told,
