The American Empire: sowing the seeds for more war.
Comment by Julian — 9 Sep 2004 on 8:31 am | Linkshut up, " unelected " that was so not funny, i know you thought it was, but it didnt get anywhere.
Atleast have some digninty for such a person to have the job, while his life is at risk everyday of people trying to assinsainate him.
dickhead, get the fuk out of here
Comment by Iraqi — 26 Jan 2005 on 11:13 pm | LinkI agree with Iraqi^^, try and have some respect guys. Allawi is a strong leader, and has a very clear vision for the future.

Comment by John — 26 Jan 2005 on 11:14 pm | LinkAllawi is a thug and a murderer. He is the puppet of the US and values the dollar in his pocket more than the welfare of Iraqi people.
He has done nothing about US war crimes or the crimes of people in his own administration. He will be put in power after a phoney election and then use the US/UK military to kill all his enemies just like he is doing at the moment.
Comment by Uncarved Block — 26 Jan 2005 on 11:34 pm | LinkIraqi; why are people trying to assassinate him? Is it because he is so obviously a puppet of the Yanks, even down to the way he agrees that everything the American military does is justified?
John Laurence; why should we have respect for Allawi? Respect is earned not God-given and so far he has done NOTHING to command respect. Indeed, he has done a lot to command total contempt, and by extension attempts on his life, because of his support of American foreign "policy" in Iraq over the well-being of the Iraqi people.
Comment by PapaLazzzaru — 27 Jan 2005 on 1:08 am | LinkIncidentally Iraqi, although you may not think it funny that Allawi is unelected, he is in fact unelected and the fact that he is being allowed to run for President (and will no doubt win, because he is the Americans stooge, as Hamid Karzai is in Afghanistan) is another nail in the coffin for so-called democracy in Iraq. The funny thing here is that ironically you seem to have missed that point altogether…
Comment by PapaLazzzaru — 27 Jan 2005 on 1:12 am | LinkJohn and Iraqi;
Saddam was "a strong leader" with a "very clear vision for the future". His life was also "at risk everyday of people trying to assinsainate him". Do I take it you think we should we have respect for him?
Comment by square peg — 27 Jan 2005 on 10:20 am | LinkWell put like that, they don’t come much stronger than Joseph Stalin, or good ol’ Adolf. Respect where it’s due…
