Iraq inquiry

Asked if the Prime Minister acknowledged the remarks made by Geoff Hoon that the Prime Minister during his time as Chancellor of the Exchequer had made cuts to the Ministry of Defence budget that had affected the departments ability to purchase helicopters, the PMS said he would not give a running commentary on the Chilcot Iraq Inquiry and that the Government had met all urgent operational requirements that the military had requested in full: this included 14 billion of spending on operations in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2001, over and above the MOD budget.
