Asked if the issue of an Alternative Vote referendum had been mentioned in Cabinet, the Prime Minister’s Spokesman (PMS) told the assembled press that she would not go into the detail of what had been discussed at Cabinet. It was not discussed in the main part of Cabinet.
Asked if the Government was still committed to having a referendum, the PMS said that the Prime Minister had made his views clear on a referendum; it would follow a general election.
