Growth strategy

Asked if the Government’s policy would really be discussed at the Growth Strategy launch in the afternoon and if the Prime Minster still had the authority to drive through priorities such as this, the PMS said that there was no link between the last twenty four hours news coverage and the Growth Strategy event – the Government often had events like this where specialist individuals were invited and the Prime Minister remained completely focussed on the Government’s agenda.
Asked if the Growth Strategy was a political document and if the Prime Minister was required to make a Parliamentary statement, the PMS said it was a Department for Business, Innovation and Skills document and that a Written Ministerial Statement had been laid.
