Ballot letter

Asked if the Prime Minister believed he had the full confidence of all the members of his Cabinet, the PMS said yes he did and that the Prime Minister was relaxed and completely focussed on the Government’s strategies and priorities. The Prime Minister was of course in touch with Cabinet colleagues on Government business as usual and there would be a Cabinet meeting tomorrow.

Asked on several occasions why the Prime Minister believed he had the full confidence of the Cabinet, the PMS said that the Prime Minister knew he had the full confidence of Cabinet members and the was busy working with them on the Government’s business and priorities both internationally and domestically.

Asked repeatedly if the Prime Minster had had conversations with members of the Cabinet on the ballot issue itself and on the suggestion some Cabinet members had delayed making statements to the media, the PMS said that it was not a matter for the PMS to comment on the political situation but there had been several statements from members of the Cabinet. However, the Prime Minister was, as usual, in regular touch with his Cabinet colleagues on Government business.
