Food Strategy Report

Asked whether the Prime Minister felt that the findings of the report fitted in with media reports of him eating ready meals late at night, the PMS said that of course the Prime Minister agreed with the content of the Government s food strategy.
Asked if the Prime Minister agreed with Hilary Benn who had said on the Today Programme this morning that GM crops were now back on the agenda, the PMS replied that what Hilary Benn had said this morning at quite some length was that it was for researchers to bring forward ideas for trials; those trials would be assessed by the Government on a case by case basis. Beyond that, he would refer people back to what Hilary Benn had said on the Today Programme.
