Asked what digital inclusion was, the PMS said that he did not have all the details but that generally it was about making the digital community more inclusive i.e. giving people more access to digital networks and everything associated with them. Asked about the Prime Minister s European Council Statement today, the PMS said that this was the normal Statement the Prime Minister made after every European Council Meeting to update the House on what was discussed. The main issues that were discussed were the international financial situation, the measures we were taking to stabilise the financial system and reform of the international financial situation going forward, as well as a debate ahead of December s European Council on energy and environment issues. Asked if the Prime Minister planned to go on any regional visits this week, the PMS said that the Prime Minister had numerous plans to go on visits to various parts of the regions and nations of the United Kingdom. As and when we were in a position to let people know exactly what the Prime Minister s plans were, we would do so.
