42 Days
« Icesave | Back to most recent briefing | Financial Situation »
Asked how confident the Government was that 42 days would go through the Lords and if the Government was determined to use every means possible, including the Parliament Act, to get it through, the PMS said that we would take it to a vote and that we were continuing to do everything we could in order to persuade members of the House of Lords that this was the right thing to do for the country. In regards to the Parliament Act question, as we had said last week, we were not going to get into hypotheticals; all of our effort and focus was on trying to win the vote in the House of Lords on Monday.
