Asked if we were in a position to confirm or deny that Alistair Campbell would be shortly be joining the Government, the PMS replied that he had no information, and no reason to believe that Alistair Campbell would be joining the Government.
Asked if he had seen Peter Mandelson this morning, and how was he, the PMS replied that BERR had issued a statement this morning in relation to Mr Mandelson s kidney stone, which made the position clear. Mr Mandelson was attending the National Economic Council this morning and was in good spirits.
