Meeting in Paris
« Reshuffle | Back to most recent briefing | Financial Markets »
Asked whether the Prime Minister had accepted an invitation from President Sarkozy to meet in Paris over the weekend, the PMS said that as people knew, the Prime Minister had said that he was happy and indeed keen to meet other world leaders to discuss the current financial instability, but we were still in discussions with our EU partners on both the timing and the agenda for any such meeting.
Asked whether there was a feeling that Saturday was too early for the meeting, the PMS advised people to wait and see how things developed over the next day or so.
