Asked if Des Browne’s announcement on troops in Afghanistan would be in the form of a Ministerial Written Statement, the Prime Minister’s Spokesman (PMS) said to check with the MoD.
Asked if it was a routine announcement, the PMS said yes; it was a roulement of troops in Afghanistan.
Asked if the announcement included information on troop numbers, the PMS said that it was an announcement about the roulement of troop, a rotation of the current unit and an introduction of another unit. It was best to speak to the MoD for details.
