Asked if the Prime Minister had any plans to meet any Labour MPs who were unhappy with the Constitutional Treaty, the PMS replied that the Prime Minister kept in contact with all of his colleagues in a number of different ways. But he would not get into talking about internal Labour Party matters.
Put that this was more than an internal Labour Party matter as David Cameron had renewed a call for a referendum, and rightly or wrongly it was a widely held view, the PMS replied that the specific question was about discussion within the Labour Party. On a more general point, the Prime Minister had set out his position on the Constitution many times, and that position had not changed.
Put that this was now a Constitution, the PMS corrected himself replying that the Prime Minister had set out his position on the accusations that it might be a Constitution.
