Mr Straw, I am a freelance journalist working on a series of articles on the UN and whether they are doing everything in their power to stop continuing atrocities. I would appreciate it if you could answer the following questions as soon as possible:
1, Does the UN have a future as an interventionist agency to stop major atrocities including war or genocide given the failures such as Rwanda, Iraq and Sudan?
2, What does the UN need and what do national governments have to do to support the UN for it to be effective?
3, Why should ordinary people believe in the UN?
Thank you for your time. I look forward to hearing from you.
