Asked about the comments made by the Scottish Cardinal who said that the Pope would give the Government hell when he visited later this year, the PMS said that this was a political issue and not something the Government had got involved in. In terms of a Government response, the PMS said that the Prime Minister was enormously looking forward to what would be an historic visit by the Pope.
Put that Mr Murphy was the Minister for the Pope, the PMS said that he was not.
