Asked if the "Show Racism a red card" reception at No 10 had something to do with football and if any footballers were attending, the PMS replied that it was to do with football and that a number of footballers would be attending.

Asked for the Prime Minister’s reaction to David Cameron’s comments about aid dropping in Burma, the PMS said that the Prime Minister had been asked about this earlier today when he did a clip on Burma and had said that we would keep all options under review.

Asked if the Prime Minister accepted that the Government had been wrong to focus on global markets last Autumn, the PMS said that the Prime Minister’s view was that the problem had been a global phenomenon which originated in US sub-prime markets but that it had implications on the UK; we had to focus on those implications and that was what we were doing.

Asked if No 10 had cleared the publications of the John Prescott and Cherie Blair autobiographies, the PMS said that it was best to check with the Cabinet Office as they dealt with those procedures.

Asked if the Prime Minister was happy, the PMS said that the Prime Minister, as he had said himself before, believed that he had the best job in the world and he was focusing on meeting the priorities of the British people; that’s what we were doing today and what we would be doing for the days and weeks ahead.
