Nancy Cameron

Asked to clarify what constitutes official use of the PM’s car, the PMS said that if the PM is using the car it is being used appropriately.

Asked to clarify whether it was Samantha Cameron that returned to pick the PM’s daughter from the pub she was left in, the PMS said that it was Samantha Cameron.

Asked whether the PM was at the pub for lunch or a drink, the PMS said that it was lunchtime but he was only there for a drink.

Asked whether the PM had to return to Chequers hastily for important business that afternoon, the PMS said that it was not the case.

Asked whether the PM and Samantha Cameron had ever left their children in a pub before, the PMS said that it had never happened before.

Asked what views were expressed between the PM and Samantha Cameron on discovery they had left Nancy behind, the PMS said that they were distraught and Samantha immediately returned to the pub to collect her.

Asked whether the story was embarrassing given the Communities Secretary’s announcement on Troubled Families, the PMS said that the two issues were completely unrelated.

Asked whether there were going to be changes to the PM’s security arrangements, the PMS said that this was not being considered as a security matter, but the PM’s security arrangements were always kept under review.
