Asked if the Prime Minister would be campaigning for Tony Blair’s candidacy as EU President in Berlin tonight, the PMS said that the Prime Minister would continue to campaign for the candidacy of Tony Blair as President of the EU. If the opportunity came up tonight then the Prime Minister would reiterate his support for Tony Blair.
Asked what the Prime Minister thought about David Miliband being European Union Foreign Minister, the PMS said that David Miliband had said that he was “not running for the European high-rep job” and that the Prime Minister believed that David Miliband was doing an excellent job as Foreign Secretary.
Asked if the Prime Minister would block any attempt to get David Miliband to become the European Union Foreign Minister, the PMS said that that was a hypothetical question.
