Andrew Marr Interview

Asked whether the Prime Minister would be making an official complaint to the BBC over Andrew Marr s very personal line of questioning, the PMS replied that people would not expect him to talk about any discussions that may or may not take place between Downing Street and a media organisation.

Put that this could set a precedent whereby senior politicians and Prime Ministers in particular were asked to undergo medicals once a year to prove that they were up to the job, the PMS said that the Prime Minister was interviewed on a regular basis and expected a range of questions, both on policy and private matters. He was completely focussed on the Labour Party Conference and major policy issues there and we had nothing further to add at this stage.

Asked if the Prime Minister thought there was any case for annual health check-ups being made public, the PMS said that the Prime Minister had not expressed a view on that, but he referred people to the comments the Prime Minister had made in the interview.
