Asked whether Lady Royall had been asked in Cabinet about the Lords, the PMS replied that Baroness Royall mentioned what she had said in her statement yesterday as part of her report on what was happening in the House of Lords, but it wasn t a lengthy discussion.
Asked if there was a general consensus that the laws needed to be tightened, the PMS said that this was something that Baroness Royall had said that the House of Lords were looking at, so there was strong support in Cabinet for the position that she had taken.
