Asked if the Prime Minister had any reassurance for people worried about their jobs, the Prime Minister s Spokesman (PMS) replied that the Prime Minister s view was that the Government stood ready to give real help to people at this time of economic uncertainty. This was a global downturn that we were seeing, that was affecting every country including the UK, and we stood ready to do whatever was necessary to support people and help people through this difficult period.
